Connecting the KAV-250cd/2 to Your System

USING BALANCED Krell recommendsusing balancedinterconnect cables. Balanced

CONNECTIONSinterconnectcables not only canminimizesonic loss but are also immuneto inducednoise, especially with installations using long cables. Balancedconnectionshave6 dB moregain than single- endedconnections.Whenlevel matchingis critical, keepthis gain value in mind.

Connection Steps

Follow these steps to connectthe KAV-250cd/2to your system.

1.Makesure all powersourcesand componentsare off before connectinginputs andoutputs.

2.Neatly organize the wiring betweenthe KAV-250cd/2andall sys- tem components.SeparateACwires from audio cables to pre- vent humor other unwantednoises from being introduced into the system.

3.Connectthe interconnect cables fromyour preamplifier to the KAV-250cd/2balancedor single-ended analog outputs on the backpanel. Thebalancedoutputs use three-pin XLRconnectors; the single-endedoutputs use RCAconnectors. Maintain the cor- rect left/right orientationof theseoutputs.

Connectthe KAV-250cd/2digital coaxial output or optics output to the input of your preamp/processor.

4.Plug the ACpowercord into the IEC powerconnectoron the backpanel, then plug the ACpowercord into the wall socket. Thered stand-byLEDon the front panel illuminates.
