Digital Video Interface (DVI-D)

DVI (Digital Video Interface) is an interface for video signal transmission designed to maximize the visual quality of digital devices. DVI-D is True Digital Video, used for direct digital connections between source (your computer) and destination devices (LCD monitors and LCD TVs for example). DVI-D provides much better visual quality than traditional VGA and S-Video connections.

For high quality display, use the DVI-D port on your computer to connect to LCD monitors or LCD TVs that support DVI-D input.

High-Definition Multimedia Interface

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI provides an interface between any compatible digital audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, and A/V receiver and a compatible digital audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable.

Use the HDMI port on your computer to connect with high-end audio and video equipment. Single cable implementation allows tidy setup and fast connection.
