Configuring the hot-swappable cage

This section includes instructions for removing and installing the hot-swappable cage as well as procedures on how to install a hard disk into the cage’s hard disk carrier.

Note: The hot-swap SCSI HDD Cages can not be cascaded for Altos G701 model.

Removing the hot-swappable cage

Important: Before detaching the hot-swappable cage from the chassis, make sure to first remove all hard disks from their carriers. For instructions, refer to the succeeding section.

1Detach the chassis panels and remove the air baffle.

2Loosen the four thumbscrews that secure the cage to the chassis

(1).

3Slightly pull out the cage from the chassis (2).

4Disconnect the following cables from the cage: a SCSI cable
