Subtitle Language

The default is “Auto”.

3Select the desired language and press ENTER.

-“Auto”: automatically displays subtitles in the language specified in the "Audio Language" setting when needed; ex) when the "Audio Language" is set to English, no subtitles are displayed if current audio track is in English; if the audio track is in any other language, English subtitles are displayed.

-“English”, “French”, “Spanish”: shows subtitles in the selected language.

-“Others”: language code screen appears to select any other language. See step 4 of “Audio Language” setting.

4Press RETURN to return to the previous screen or press SETUP to exit the setup menu.

3Select the preferred setting when playing a disc recorded in wide format, and press ENTER.

-“LETTER BOX

The width of the picture is fit to the TV screen so that no part of the picture is cut off.

-“PAN & SCAN

The left and/or the right portions of each scene are cut off as specified by the manufacturer, and the picture is diplayed at full screen height.

4Press SETUP to exit the setup menu.

•The preference setting for the 4:3 representation of wide format software is only effective when playing a disc offering such a choice. Such a disc may be labeled as "16:9 LB PS", where LB stands for "Letter Box" and PS for "Pan & Scan". Other discs, such as those labeled "16:9 LB" or "16:9 PS", are played according to the disc's setting, regardless of your preference.
