RE-INITIALIZING

If your unit behaves erratically or “freezes”, the first step is to power down the unit. and power it back up again. Disconnect any cables connected to the MIDI IN jack, and make sure that a sequencer or keyboard is not sending messages to the DM5 that would make it behave erratically (such as a long stream of pitch bend messages on 16 channels simultaneously). If these steps do not solve the problem, you must re- initialize the software.

To re-initialize the DM5, hold down both the [VOICE] and [OUTPUT] buttons while turning on the power. Once the power is turned on, immediately release both buttons. The display will momentarily read: “Initializing...”. This will reset all MIDI and Trigger parameters and all of the Drum Sets to their default settings, and will initialize the edit buffer.

CHECKING SOFTWARE VERSION

The current software version may be determined by simultaneously pressing both [] and [] buttons. The DM5 will momentarily indicate the current software version installed in the top line of the display.

MAINTENANCE/SERVICE

CLEANING

Disconnect the AC cord, then use a damp cloth to clean the keyboard’s metal and plastic surfaces. For heavy dirt, use a non-abrasive household cleaner such as Formula 409 or Fantastik. DO NOT SPRAY THE CLEANER DIRECTLY ONTO THE FRONT OF THE UNIT AS IT MAY DESTROY THE LUBRICANTS USED IN THE SWITCHES AND CONTROLS! Spray onto a cloth, then use the cloth to clean the unit.
