The Rapier 48w and 48w-B switches have the same features, however the physical connection between the switch and NSMs is different. The compatible NSMs for each model are:

Rapier 48w: AT-AR040, AT-AR048

Rapier 48w-B: AT-AR040-B, AT-AR048-B

In this guide, the product name Rapier 48w refers to both the Rapier 48w and the Rapier 48w-B models, except where an explicit reference is made.

NEBS Compliance

The Rapier 48w DC models meet Network Equipment Building System (NEBS) compliance under the following conditions:

The switch is located in a network telecommunications facility.

When rack-mounted, all bare conductors are coated with an appropriate antioxidant compound before making crimp connections.

The supplied air filters are installed in both fan units.

The Rapier 48w AC model has not been tested for NEBS requirements.

48W-B, 48W specifications
