88 Warranty
onlybe accepted as a p roof of purchase when presented to the dealer from
whomthe product was purchased.
2. Thewarranty is not applic able in circumstances other than defects in mate-
rial,design and work manship. The warranty does not cover the following:
•Periodicche cks, maintenance, repair and replacement o f parts due to
normalwear and tear, exchange of faulty batteri es or upgrading of soft-
waredue to changes in netwo rk parameters.
•Damageto the produc t resulting from:
• Abuseor misuse, incl uding but not limited to failure to use the
productfor its n ormal purposes or in accordance with Ericsson’s
instructionsfor use andmaintenance of theproduct, or the i nstalla-
tionor use of the prod uct in a manner inconsistent with the techni-
calor safety standards in force.
• Repairsperf ormed by non-authorized service workshops, or open-
ingof the product b y non-authorized persons.
• Accidents,acts of God orany cause beyond the contro l of Ericsson,
including but not limited to lightning, water, fire, pub lic distur-
bancesand improper ventilation.
3. Thisproduct will notbe considered de fective in materials, design or work-
manshipif it needs to be a dapted, changed or adjusted to conform to
nationalor local techn ical or safety standards in force in any country other
thanthat for which theproduct was originally d esigned and manufactured.
Thiswarranty sha ll not reimburse such adaptations, changes or adjust-
ments,or attempt st o do so, whether properly performed or not, nor any
damageresulting fro m them, nor any adaptation, change or adjustment to
upgradethe prod uct from its normal purpose as described in the product
manualwithout the p rior written consent of Ericsson.
4. Repairor replacement under the terms of this warrantyshall not give a
righttoanextensionto,oranewcommencementof,theperiodofwar-
ranty.Repair or replacement und er the terms of this warranty may be ful-
filledwith funct ionally equivalent reconditioned units. Replaced faulty
partsor compone nts will become the property of Ericsson.
5. Thiswarranty doesnot affect the purchaser’sstatutory rightsunder appl i-
cablenationa l legislation in force, nor the purchaser’s rights against the
dealerarising from the sales/purchasecontract.
Inthe absence o f applicable national legislation this warranty will be the p ur-
chaser’ssole and exclusive remedy.Ericsson, its subsidiaries and distributors
shallnot be liable fo r any incidental or consequential damages for breach of
anyexpress or impli ed warranty relating to this product.
