Setting MAC Filter

The MAC filter is a powerful security feature that allows you to specify which computers are allowed on the network. This list can be configured so any computer attempting to access the network that is not specified in the filter list will be denied access. When you enable this feature, you must enter the MAC address of each client (computer) to which you want to allow network access. The Block feature lets you turn access to the network on and off easily for any computer without having to add or remove the computer’s MAC address from the list.

To set MAC filters, click on MAC Filter under Firewall in the Sub menu.

1.Select the checkbox next to MAC Address Control

2.Enter the MAC address of the computer you want to configure Internet access for

3.Check Block Connect to Internet to restrict Internet access to the specified computer

4.Click Add

5.Click Apply

6.To delete a computer from the MAC Filter table, simply click Delete next to the appropriate MAC address.

To unblock Internet access to a MAC address of a client, simply uncheck the Block Connect to Internet box next to the appropriate MAC address.

Setting URL Filter

The URL filter is a powerful security feature that allows you to restrict access to certain web sites. This list can be configured so any computer attempting to access the prohibited web sites will be denied access. When you enable this feature, you must specify the exact web site to which you want to prohibit access. The Block feature lets you to turn access to the web sites on and off easily for any computer without having to add or remove the web site address from the list.

To set URL filters, click on URL Filter under Firewall in the Sub Menu.

1.Select the checkbox next to URL Control

2.Enter the URL of the web site you want to restrict access

3.Check Block to Internet to restrict Internet access to the specified web site

4.Click Add

5.Click Apply

6.To delete a web site off the URL Filter table, simply uncheck the Block Connect to Internet box next to the appropriate URL.
