The motherboard has two Double Data Rate (DDR) DIMM sockets that supports up to 2GB non-ECC PC3200/2700/2100/1600 DDR Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memorry (SDRAM) DIMMs. Each DIMM socket/module is two- sided. DIMMs come in combinations of single or double-sided types ranging through 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1 GB. The A7N8X-VM motherboard supports the dual-channel memory architecture when two DIMMs are installed on the sockets.

PC3200 DDR is supported only when the motherboard is using an add-on VGA card. Visit www.asus.com to view a list of qualified PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMM vendors.

1.9.1 Installing a DIMM

1. Unlock a DIMM socket by pressing

2.Align a DIMM on the socket. Make sure the notches on the DIMM exactly match the notches in the socket.

3.Firmly insert the DIMM into the

socket until the retaining clips lock

A DDR DIMM is keyed with a notch so that it fits in only one direction. DO NOT force a DIMM into a socket to avoid damaging the DIMM.
