The following guidelines will improve performance and provide longer operating times for the FR-1500XTM:

1.Do not mix old and new batteries.

2.The use of alkaline-type batteries is recommended to provide the longest operating time.

3.Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.

4.If the unit is not to be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries. Old or leaking batteries can cause damage to the unit and will void the warranty.

Controls:

Power On/Off ( ) Button (6):

Press and hold this button ( ) momentarily to turn the unit on. The unit will perform a brief self-test and then vibrate for a short time; the user identification code will display from left-to-right, sequencing through all 8 display characters, followed by display of TWO WAY (accompanied by a short melody). The unit will then beep and the FRS standby display appears showing CH, CODE and the battery charge icon.

To turn the unit off, press and hold the button for a 2 second period. A short melody will sound as the unit shuts off.

Function (F) Button (2):

In the standby mode, pressing this button will scroll through the various modes as shown in the Operational Modes diagram.

Pressing the button for more than 1.5 seconds will activate or deactivate the KEY LOCK feature in any mode. Refer to KEY LOCK function description to activate and deactivate
