3. While either the application file is uncompressed into RAM, the follow ing message is
displayed:

5. The telephone detects and displays the speed of the Ethernet interface in Mbps (that is , 0, 10
or 100). The message No Ethernet is displayed until the software determines whether the
interface is 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps.
6. The software checks whether sufficient IP address information has been downloaded. In this
scenario, it is discovered that sufficient information has not been downlo aded. The following
message is displayed while the DHCP process is invoked:

completes.
7. The following message is displayed while the TFTP process is invoked:
The number of pings is incremented once per second, until the TFTP server responds.
8. The following message is displayed while the upgrade script is downl oaded from the TFTP

9. The script file is processed and the software determines that the name of the boot code fil e in
the telephone (BOOTNAME) is the latest version, and the name of the application file in the
telephone is the same as APPNAME.
10. System-specific regis tration with the DEFINITY server is invoked.
11. Upon completion of regis tration, dial-tone is available on the telephone.
