ThePrivacyMaskList(Video&Audio>PrivacyMask)showsallthemasksthatarecurrentlyconguredintheAxisproductand
indicatesiftheyareenabled.
Youcanaddanewmask,re-sizethemaskwiththemouse,chooseacolorforthemask,andgivethemaskaname.

SelectMicrophonetouseanexternalmicrophoneorLinetouseaLineindevice,e.g.anaudiomixerformultiplemicrophones
oramicrophonewithabuilt-inamplier,asaudiosource.
Selectthe+30dBmicrophoneboostoptiontoamplifythesignaloftheexternalmicrophoneconnectedtotheAxisproduct.
ThisoptionisnotavailablewhentheLinesourceisselected
Selectthemicrophonesensitivitylevel(High/Low)dependingonthesoundlevelinthemonitoredarea.Forexample,iftheAxis
productisinstalledinanoisyenvironment,trysettingtheinputsensitivitytoLow.
TheMicrophonepoweroptionprovidesDCpowerforanexternalmicrophone.Microphonepowershouldonlybeusedwith
microphonesthathavenobattery .Thissettingshouldnotbeenabledwhenusingadynamicorbatterypoweredmicrophone.
Microphonepowerwillnotharmthemicrophone;ifyouareuncertain,tryswitchingitoffandon.Touseaprofessionalmicrophone
requiring48Vphantompower,youneedanexternalpowersupplyandabalanced-unbalancedconverter(audiotransformer)in
between.
UsetheInputgaintocontrolthevolume(dBFullScale)oftheaudioinput.Ifthesoundistoolow,chooseahigherdB,toamplify
thesound.Ifthesoundistoohigh,choosealowerdB.TheLevelbargivesavisualrepresentationoftheaudiosignallevelindB
relativetothefull-scaleinputlevel.
•Green—thesignalisatagoodlevel.
•Yellow—thesignalisbecomingdistorted.
•Red—thesignalisdistorted.
UsetheEncodingoptiontoselectdigitalaudioencodingformat.
•AACrequiresalicenseforbothencodinganddecoding.AACistheleastcomplicatedandmostwidelyusedcodec.If
achievingthebestpossibleaudioqualityisapriority ,AACistherecommendedcodectouse.AnAAClicenseisincluded
intheAxisproduct.
