3-3. Direct Connection to the PC

With this configuration, you can share contents with a PC through home network but the DP-S1 can not access to Internet. For this connection, the following equipments are required;

zA PC with Windows XP operating system.

zA crossed Ethernet cable.

If your PC has the DHCP server feature and it is enabled, all the configurations for networking will be set automatically and the DP-S1 is ready to communicate with your PC. If you want to get more information to configure your PC as a DHCP server, please contact Microsoft Corp. If your PC does not have the DHCP server feature, you have to disable the DHCP feature and set IP (Internet Protocol) information manually for the DP-S1 and PC. Chapter 4. Quick Setup, illustrates how to configure the LAN of the DP-S1 manually.
