5.2 Basic X.25 Configuration Procedures
The following text describes the configuration procedure for the basic application shown in Figure 5-3.
This configuration includes two X.25 PADs (in this case, X.25 PAD 8) connected through a Fradswitch to a
public X.25 network. In this form we connect a private network to the X.25 public network. This procedure
is based on the default factory settings.

5.2.1 FRADSWITCH LINK CONFIGURATION
The link configuration may require X.25 address (calling address) setting. Verification of the packet size,
window size, and transmission mode (DCE or DTE) is important to match the nearest X.25 peer data.
• Enter the Fradswitch command facility (see Section 5.1).
• On the Fradswitch main menu, select 1 (CONFIGURE), and then select 3 (Link).
• On the Fradswitch link configuration menu, select 3 (Update Link Parameters), and then enter 2
at the “Enter link number to update:” prompt.
• On the Fradswitch link 2 configuration screen, select 1 (Address) and then enter your subscribed
(calling address) address.
• Verify that your packet size and window sizes (parameters K and W) are correct and change them if
required according to your X.25 subscription data. On the Fradswitch X.25 link 2 configuration screen,
enter 2 for DTE/DCE parameter, and then enter 0 for DTE.
• On the Fradswitch X.25 link 2 configuration screen, select S (SAVE) and then press <CR> (EXIT).
