This product is shipped for use on a nominal120-voltcircuit,and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug in sketchA. A temporaryadapterthat lookslike the adapterillustratedin sketches B and C may be used to connectthis plug to a 2-polereceptacleas shown in sketch B, if a properly grounded outletis not available. The temporary adaptershouldbe used only until a properly grounded outlet(sketch A) can be installedby a qualifiedelectrician. The green colored rigid ear, lug, or like extendingfrom the adaptermust be connectedto a permanent ground such as a properlygroundedoutletbox cover.Wheneverthe adapteris used, it must be held in placeby a metalscrew.

The motor of this compressor has a thermal overloadprotectorin the motorwinding. If the motor should overheat, the overload protectorwill shut the motoroff. When the temperature returns to normal, the motorwill restartautomatically.

NOTICE! Do not stop the compressor by pulling out the plug. Use only the On/Offswitch, which operates a pressurereliefvalve on the compressor. If the compressoris pluggedin with the switch in the “On” position, the compressormay have troublerestartingagainstthe high pressure which couldcauseexcessive heat buildup and coulddamagethe motor.

Safety Valve:

This compressor is equipped with a safetyvalvethat is set to avoidover-pressurizationof the air tanks. This valve is factorypre-set at 160 PSI and will not functionunlesstank pressure reaches this pressure.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADJUSTOR ELIMINATETHIS SAFETYDEVICE. ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THIS VALVECOULD CAUSESERIOUSINJURY. If this devicerequires serviceor maintenance, see an AuthorizedBOSTITCHServiceCenter.
