FASTENER SPECIFICATIONS:

The N89C tools uses wire collated coil nails in lengths of 2” to 3-1/2”(50 - 90mm) with shank diameters of

.099” - .131”(2.5 - 3.3mm)

The N89C-HQ tools uses the same nails as the N89C,but is optimized to acceptwire collated 2-1/2”and 3” (63.5mm and 76.2mm) Hurriquake® nails with shank diameters of .113” and .131” (2.9mm and 3.3mm)

TOOL AIR FITTING:

This tool uses a free-flow connector plug, 1/4” N.P.T.The minimum inside diameter should be .275” (7mm). The fitting must be capable of discharging tool air pressure when disconnected from the air supply.

OPERATING PRESSURE:

70 to 120 p.s.i.g. (4.8 to 8.3 kg/cm2). Select the operating pressure within this range for best fastener performance.

DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED OPERATING PRESSURE.

AIR CONSUMPTION:

The N89C requires 8.23 cubic feet per minute(233 liters per minute)of free air to operate at the rate of 100 nails per minute, at 80 p.s.i.(5.6 kg/cm2).Take the actual rateat whichthetool will be run to determine the amount of air required. For instance, if your fastener usage averages50 nails per minute, you need 50% of the 8.23 c.f.m. (233 liters per minute) which is required to operate the tool at 100 nails per minute.

OPERATION

BOSTITCH OFFERS TWO MODES OF OPERATIONFOR THIS SERIES TOOL.

SEQUENTIALTRIP (Graytrigger):

The Sequential Trip requires the operator to hold the tool against the work surface before pulling the trigger. This makes accurate fastener placement easier, for instance on framing, toe nailing and crating applications. The Sequential Trip allows exact fastener placement without the possibility of driving a second fastener on recoil, as described under “Contact Trip”. The Sequential Trip Tool has a positive safety advantage because it will not accidentally drive a second fastener if the tool is contactedagainst the work – or anything else – while the operator is holding the trigger pulled.

CONTACTTRIP (Black trigger):

The common operating procedure on “Contact Trip” tools is for the operator to contact the work surface to actuate the trip mechanism while keeping the trigger pulled, thus driving a fastener each time the work is contacted. This will allow rapid fastener placement on many jobs, such as sheathing, decking and pallet assembly. All pneumatic tools are subject to recoil when driving fasteners. The tool may bounce, releasing the trip, and if unintentionally allowed to re-contact the work surface with the trigger still actuated (finger still holding trigger pulled) an unwanted second fastener will be driven.

N89C specifications

The Bostitch N89C is a highly regarded pneumatic roofing nailer designed to streamline the roofing process while ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity. As a staple tool in the construction industry, particularly for roofing applications, it is engineered to handle a variety of tasks with precision and ease, making it a favorite among both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.

One of the standout features of the Bostitch N89C is its lightweight design, weighing in at an impressive 4.6 pounds. This reduced weight allows for extended use without excessive fatigue, which is crucial during long working hours on steep roofs. The nailer is constructed with a durable housing that can withstand the rigors of job sites, ensuring longevity and reliable performance.

The N89C operates using a pneumatic system that delivers a powerful and consistent driving force. It is capable of accommodating wire-weld and plastic collated nails ranging from 3/4 inch to 1-3/4 inch in length, offering versatility for various roofing materials, from shingles to plywood. This adaptability makes it an essential tool for contractors who need to switch between different materials and tasks seamlessly.

Equipped with a depth adjustment feature, the Bostitch N89C allows users to control the depth at which nails are driven, ensuring proper fastening without damaging the roofing materials. This precision is vital for maintaining the integrity of roofs and ensuring longevity. An adjustable exhaust port also enhances user comfort by directing air away from the user, reducing the chance of dust and debris being blown back onto the work surface.

The Bostitch N89C's magazine holds up to 100 nails, enabling contractors to work efficiently without frequent reloading. This feature is complemented by a nail lock-out mechanism that prevents dry firing, which can cause damage to the tool and materials. The easy-to-clear jam release lever also ensures that any jams can be resolved quickly, minimizing downtime on the job.

Incorporating advanced technologies like an efficient air consumption design, the Bostitch N89C promotes longer run times and reduced compressor cycling. This innovation not only improves performance but also contributes to cost-effectiveness for contractors who rely on pneumatic tools for their jobs.

In summary, the Bostitch N89C roofing nailer is a powerful, reliable, and easy-to-use tool built for professionals. With its lightweight structure, adjustable features, and durable construction, it offers the performance needed to tackle roofing projects efficiently and effectively, making it an invaluable addition to any contractor's toolkit.
