2Rub your skin to lift short hairs. Apply the Silk·épil at right angles (90°) against your skin. For best epilation results, make sure that the soothing attachment wheels always keep in contact with the skin surface. Pressing gently, guide it slowly against the
direction of hair growth (see illustration A 2). Underarm, this means guiding the appliance in different directions. Do not press too hard. On bony parts, we recommend to use a lower switch setting.
3When epilating behind the knee, keep the leg stretched out straight; when epilating under- arm, your arm should be raised up.
Cleaning the epilator head
4After each use, unplug the appliance. Take off the soothing attachment and brush out the rows of wheels.
5Thoroughly clean the tweezer element with the cleaning brush and also disinfect it with a few drops of Silk·épil cleaning fluid or alcohol. While cleaning, you can turn the tweezer element manually. To take off the epilator head, press the two release bars on the front and back and pull it off.
6Give the top of the housing a quick clean with the brush. Put back on the epilator head.
Some useful tips
•For the first use or if not having epilated for a long time, we recom- mend to first shave longer hairs. After
•In the beginning, it is advisable to epilate in the evening, so that any possible reddening can disappear overnight.
•Hair is easier to remove after bath- ing or showering (but remember your skin must be completely dry).
•After epilating, we recommend applying Silk·épil cream or another moisture cream to relax the skin and relieve slight skin irritations.
•It may happen that regrowing fine hairs do not manage to get through to the skin surface.
In order to prevent the risk of ingrowing hairs, we recommend the regular use of massage sponges (e.g. after showering) or exfoliation peelings. By a gentle scrubbing action, the upper skin layer is removed and fine hairs can get through to the skin surface.
