At Breville we are very safety conscious. We design and manufacture consumer products

with the safety of you, our valued customer, foremost in mind. In addition we ask that you

exercise a degree of care when using any electrical appliance and adhere to the following

precautions.

Carefully read all instructions before operating the
Breville Kitchen Sc ale for the first time and save for
future reference.
Remove and safely discard a ny packaging material
and promotional labels before using the kitchen scale
for the first time.
Do not place the kitchen scale near the edge of a
bench or table during operation. Ensure the surface is
level, clean and free of water and other substances.
Any significant spillage onto the weighing pl atform
or around or under the a ppliance should be removed
then the surface cleaned and dried before c ontinued
use of the appliance.
Do not use the kitchen scale on a sink drain board.
Do not place th e kitchen scale on or nea r a hot gas
or electric bur ner, or where it could touch a heated
oven.
Do not place the kitchen scale in direct sunlight.
This kitchen sc ale is a precision inst rument. Do not
dismantle the kitchen scale and avoid strong vibrations
and shocks.
Always ensure the kitchen scale is completely
assembled with 2 x 3V lithium batterie s properly
inserted before use. T he appliance will not operate
unless properly assembled.
Ensure the kitchen scale is pressed to OFF before
removing or replacing batteries.
Always remove the batteries if t he kitchen scale will
not be used for six (6) months or longer.

Always ensure items to be weighed are correctly
positioned in th e centre of the weighing platform to
prevent spillages.
Do not at tempt to operate the kitchen scale by any
method other than those described in this book.
Do not place anything on to p of the kitchen scale
when stored.
Keep the kitchen scale clean. Follow the cleaning
instructions provided in this book.
The appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children ) with re duced phy sical, sens ory
or mental capabilities, or lac k of experience and
knowledge, unless they h ave been given super vision
or instruction concerning use of t he appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
It is recommended to regularly inspect the appliance.
If the appliance becomes damaged in any way, return
the entire appliance to the nearest authorised Breville
Service Centre for examination and/or repair.
Any maintenance ot her than cleaning should be
performed at an authorised Breville Service Centre.
This appliance is for household use only. Do not use
this appliance for anything other than its intended use.
Do not use in moving vehicles or bo ats. Do n ot use
outdoors. Misuse may cause injury.
