Storing numbers for easy dialling

You can set up your MFC to do two types of easy d ialling: Speed-Dia l

and Groups for Broadcasting f axes. When you dial a quick-dial

number, the LCD shows the nam e, if you stored it, or the number.

Storing Speed-Dial numbers

You can store Speed-Dial numbers, so that when you dial you will

only have to press a few keys (Search/Speed Dial, #, the two-digit

number, and Mono Start or Colour Start). The MFC-5440CN can

store 40 Speed-Dial numbers a nd the MFC-5840CN can store 100

numbers.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 3, 1.

Use the dial pad to enter a

Speed-Dial location number

(01-40 for MFC-5440C N, 00-99 for MFC-5840CN .)

(For example, press 05.)

Press Menu/Set.

Enter the phone or fax numb er (up to 20 digits).

Press Menu/Set.

Quick-Dial numbers and dialling options

If you lose electrical powe r, the quick-dial numbers that are in

the memory will not be lost.
