Using your machine with a

Macintosh®

■Before you can connect the machine to your Macintosh®,

you must buy a USB cable that is not longer th an 1.8 metres.

Do not connect the machine to a USB port on a

keyboard or a non-powered USB hub.

■Some descriptions in this cha pter are based on the

MFC-8840D. These descrip tions also apply to the

MFC-8440, DCP-8040 and DCP-8045D.

■The screens shown in this chapter are from MFC-8840D.
