MPG Plugger

Figure 3

Optional Slicing Knives

Weight Box

Knives should be assem- bled with two blades between the two hub plates and two blades to the outside of hub plates, on alternating sides.

Grease Before Each Use

OPERATION

Level the implement from side to side and front to rear using adjustments on the tractor’s 3-point lift.

KEEP BODY, HANDS AND FEET CLEAR OF SPOONS OR OTHER PARTS. WARNING

DURING IMPLEMENT ADJUSTMENT

KEEP BODY, HANDS AND FEET CLEAR OF SPOONS OR OTHER PARTS.

Weight may be added to the plugger frame to aid in penetrating hard soil. Concrete blocks, water jugs or other types of weight may be used as long as noth- ing extends through the frame and interferes with the rotation of the spoons. Penetration should be approximately one to 1-1/2”. (Figure 2)

By removing core plugs from the soil, lawns are bet- ter able to breath and hold moisture. Compacted soil and thatch are relieved, allowing air and fertilizer to reach roots.

Optional slicing knives are available to replace spoons on the mounting plates. Four knives per hub are used to cut grass runners which causes new growth and thicker lawns. Install as shown. (Figure 3)

Care should be exercised during use of the plugger to prevent hanging the spoons on immovable objects or otherwise use of the implement under conditions beyond its designed capacity.

TRANSPORTATION

TRANSPORTATION CAUTION

WHEN EQUIPMENT IS TRANSPORTED, USE NECESSARY DEVICES REQUIRED BY LOCAL REGULATIONS FOR ADE- QUATE WARNING TO OPERATORS OF OTHER VEHICLES.

SECTION II

MAINTENANCE

LUBRICATION - Apply NLGI Grade 2 multi-purpose grease to sleeves on shaft before each use. (Figure 2)

Tighten all other fasteners to specifications given in torque chart.

SECTION II CAUTION

LOWER THE IMPLEMENT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND SECURELY SUPPORT BEFORE MAKING ANY ADJUSTMENT.

Inspect your implement periodically and replace any worn or broken parts in order to have it ready for use when needed.

When spoons become worn, replace one at a time to ensure proper location and assembly.

Store the implement out of the weather when it is not in use. This helps prevent rusting of the spoons and other components.
