Metered Manual Flash Exposures
When the Speedlite is attached to an EOS-1 0series camera, you can
setthe flash level manually for closeup subjects.
Setthe camera and Speed lite.
Setthe camera's shooting mode to <M>or <
Av
>.
•' Setthe Speed lite to manual flash.
Focus the subject.
Focus manually.
Set up an
18%
gray card.
Place the graycard at the subject's position.
In
the viewfinder, the entire spotmetering circle at the center
should coverthe gray card.
Press the

<FEL>

button.

The Speedlite will fire apreflash and the required flash output for
the subject
is
retained
in
memory.
On the right side
of
the viewfinder, the exposure level indicator
will showthe flash exposure level for the correct flash exposure.
Setthe flash exposure level.
Adjustthe Speed lite's manual flash level and the
camera aperture so thatthe flash exposure level
alignswith the standard exposure index.
6Take the picture.
Remove the graycard and take the picture.
