The camera's mechanical shake caused by the reflex mirror action can blur images taken with a super telephoto lens or
Mirror Iockup is enabled by setting [8: Mirror Iockup] to [1: Enable] in the [_'_Custom Functions (C.Fn)] (p.255).

®Using the self=timer <_®> <_2> with mirror Iockup,
When you press the shutter button completely, the mirror locks up, then the picture is taken 10 sec. or 2 sec. later.
®Remote control shooting.
Since you do not touch the camera when the picture is taken, remote control shooting together with mirror Iockup can further prevent camera shake (p.261). With Remote Controller
In very bright light such as at the beach or a ski slope on a sunny day,
Lakethe picture promptly after mirror lockup.
Do not pointthe camera toward the sun. The sun'sheat can damage the camera'sinternal components.
