Shooting in Program AE Mode (G Mode)

You can customize many function settings to suit your preferred shooting style.

Enter Gmode.

zSet the mode dial to G.

Customize the settings as desired (pp. 116 138), and then shoot.

If adequate exposure cannot be obtained when you press the shutter button halfway, shutter speeds and aperture values are displayed in orange. To obtain adequate exposure, try adjusting the following settings.

-Activate the flash (p. 134)

-Choose a higher ISO speed (p. 118)

Movies can be recorded in Gmode as well, by pressing the movie button. However, some Hand nsettings may be automatically adjusted for movie recording.

Adjusting Image Brightness (Exposure Compensation)

The standard exposure set by the camera can be adjusted in 1/3-stop increments, in a range of –2 to +2.

zPress the obutton. As you watch the screen, turn the 5dial to adjust brightness, and then

press the obutton again when finished.

XThe correction level you specified is now displayed.
