Functions you can assign to the control ring vary depending on shooting mode, and those assignments determine which functions you can assign to the control dial.

zzPress the <q><r> buttons or turn the <7> dial to choose the shooting mode with functions to assign.
zzPress the <o><p> buttons or turn the <y> ring to choose a function to assign to the control ring.
zzFunctions you can assign to the control dial will be updated automatically.
zzPress the <n> button to return to the shooting screen.
