Mode Dial

Use the mode dial to change the Shooting mode.

P, Tv, Av, M Mode

Choose settings yourself to take various types of pictures (pp. 68, 89, 90, 91).

Auto Mode

You can leave it to the camera to select settings for fully automatic shooting (p. 23).

Movie Mode

For shooting movies (pp. 29, 99).

Easy Mode

You can shoot just by pressing the shutter button (p. 28).

Scene Mode

You can shoot with the best settings for the scene (p. 58) or add various effects and shoot (p. 59).

If you turn the mode dial while in Playback mode, the camera will switch to Shooting mode.
