SERVICE

This unit is designed to provide years of reliable service under even the worst conditions. Many times there may appear to be a problem with the unit when the true problem is in the speaker(s) or improper installation. The following chart shows typical symptoms and possible causes.

A blown amplifier fuse doesn't necessarily mean that the unit is bad. If a speaker or speaker lead is shorted this fuse will blow before the unit is damaged. Disconnect the SPKR leads and replace the fuse. If the siren emits a sound when in the Yelp position it is OK. Check the speaker(s) or leads for possible shorting.

PROBLEMS

Symptom	Possible Cause	Check
No power or	Power switch not turned on	Does backlighting and power indicator on control head
siren output	Bad speaker(s)	come on?
	Connector loose	Do you hear a "pop" when turned on?
	Amplifier/control head fuse blown	Is an external fuse or circuit breaker used?
	Loose connection at power source	Are the negative leads connected to a good ground?
No siren tone	High Voltage Protection	Input voltage must be less than highest rated voltage.
- PA works	Mic button stuck	Does mic button release properly?
No PA	PA volume not set properly	Have you tried turning the PA volume control?
Distorted	Speaker assembly loose	Is the speaker bell or tip loose?
siren sound	Intermittent Aux Input connection	Is the Aux Input used and wired properly?
	Low vehicle voltage	Input voltage must be greater than lowest rated voltage.
Intermittent	High Voltage Protection	Is the vehicle voltage regulator working properly?
siren tone	Connector loose	Are connections tight on the amplifier/control head?
	Bad power connection	Is there a loose connection on a power lead?
	Mic button activation	Is something lying on the microphone?
	Circuit breaker in supply connection	Is a circuit breaker used with at least a 50A rating?
Horn function	Siren switch stuck	Does the Siren switch return fully when released?
Or Manual	Aux Input improperly connected	Is the Aux Input used and wired properly?

No Radio	Unit not connected to radio	Is the radio connected properly to the unit?
	Radio volume too low	Can you here the radio in the vehicle?
		Have you tried turning the radio volume control?
Wrong siren	Two-Tone option installed	Is the T-T option switch turned on?
tone	Ground system noise	Are Control head and amplifier connected to good
		ground?
Dual switch	Only one amplifier working	Is one fuse on the amplifier blown?
doesn’t work	One speaker damaged	Have you tried replacing the speaker?
Constantly	Amplifiers wired incorrectly	Are SPKR A and SPKR B wired together?
