Drawing a Conics Graph

kDrawing a Parabola that Opens Vertically

A parabola with a vertical axis is one whose principal axis is parallel to the y-axis. There are

two possible equations for a parabola with a vertical axis: y = A(x – H)2 + K and y = Ax2 + Bx +C.

uClassPad Operation

(1)In step (2) of the procedure under “Drawing a Parabola that Opens Horizontally”, select “Y = A(X – H)2 + K” or “Y = AX2 + BX + C”.

(2)Specify values for the coefficients.
