Appendix B: Configure the Most Common TCP/IP Parameters

Complete this procedure in order to configure the most common TCP/IP parameters.

Note: Cisco Technical Support recommends that you do not use DHCP to assign TCP/IP parameters to your Cisco Unity server.

1.Open the TCP/IP Properties window for your NIC by selecting Settings > Control Panel > Network and Dial−up Connections > Local Area Connection > Properties.

Note: Client for Microsoft Networks is not required.

Caution: If the server that you are configuring is going to run Active Directory, you must

enable File and Print Sharing For Microsoft Networks. This is required because Active Directory uses Networking to share the Active Directory files. This applies even when the server is the only one in the entire network running Active Directory because the server accesses the files locally via the share path \\server_name\directory_name\file_name.

2. Double−click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) option.
