(2) Data Composition
[1] Startbit
[2] Data bits (and parity bit)
[3] Stopb it (1 bit or more)
[1] Startbit
1/2 bit past the line dropping from MARK to SPACE, a status reading is taken again. If the reading is SPACE,
a start bit is recognized, but if it is MARK, it is not taken as a start bit. Thisis not regarde da sa nerr or, butthe
search for the st art bit is pe rformed once again.
[2] Data bit and Paritybit
Data bits and parity bits are the data of the bits in question, which are represented by the state at the times
sampling is per formed. This is accomp lished at time inter vals equal to one bit in l ength, beginning fr om the
middle of the sta rt bit. The order o f the bits is, sta rting with the b it closest to the start bit, bit -0, bit- 1 .....,pa rity
bit. (Note: da ta bits a re based on "one point sampling".)
[3] Stop bit
The stop bit c onsists of one or more bits at "mark" le vel. When "spa ce" level i s detected for a stop bit , a framin g
erroroccurs.
(3) Error Detection
Parity, framing and overrunerrors can be detected by your printer. When an error is detected, theALARM
lamp goes on, the buzzer is sounded, the related data is abandoned, and the printer shifts to the next incoming data.
The ALARM lamp can be turned off by press ing the LINE switc h.
[1] Framingerror
When"space" state is detected duringstop bit sampling, the ALARM lamp goes on,the buzzer sounds, and the
related data is ignored.
[2] Parityerror
When parity check is designated, and if when ch ecked an error is detected, the ALARM lamp goes on, the
buzzer sounds a nd the related dat a is ignored.
[3] Overrunerror
Whenan overr unerror is detected, the ALARM lamp goes on, the buzzer sounds and the related data is ignored.
