Storing Food Items

Use items in the order stored.

 

Do not store for long periods.

Inside the cooler

Maintenance

Press the On/Off button to turn off the unit, and carry out the following maintenance after unplugging the power cable.

To prevent spoilage from condensation, put water-sensitive items in a plastic bag or container before storing.

Defrosting

Defrost the cooler regularly. Frost will form on the inside of the cooler. To defrost, turn off power, open lid and remove all items. Allow frost to melt. Wipe the inside surfaces with a soft cloth to remove moisture.

Main unit

Maintenance Caution

Immerse a soft cloth into mild dish detergent diluted with water and wipe the main unit after wringing the cloth.

Never immerse the unit in water.

Never wipe the unit using thinner, benzene or spray cleaners. Do not rub the unit with a scrubbing brush, cleanser, etc.

When there are few items in the cooler

Lay bottles on their side to prevent them from falling and breaking.

Main unit Caution

Bottles may crack from freezing. Be sure to select Air intake area, Leave adequate space or Clean food products as appropriate.

Air intake area

Clean the air intake area with a vacuum cleaner at least once a month.

If the air intake filter is dirty, product performance will be hampered.

Remove stubborn dirt by rubbing gent- ly with a commercially-available brush.

Leave adequate space

Overloading inter- feres with the flow of cold air.

Clean food products

Wipe off moisture or dirt before storing items. As for the food such as vegetables and fruits, which will be touched directly with mouth,

Seal items in airtight containers, plastic bags or plastic wrap.

Sealing items prevents odors from spreading and food from drying out.

Keep lids on bottles or containers tightly closed.

The filter cannot be completely removed. To clean, gently pull the filter out until you feel resistance. After cleaning the filter, always return it to its original position. Damage may occur if dust enters the internal components.

Handling condensation

It is best to store items that have been pre-chilled.

Do not store items that are 140˚F (60˚C) or over.

For faster cooling, pre- chill items of food and drink in your home refrig- erator before placing them in the cooler.

Condensation will form on the product during operation. Quickly wipe any moisture that forms on the main unit, or drips out of the cooler.

Put water-sensitive foods in containers or plastic

bags before cooling.

Condensation is a natural phenomenon, and is not a sign of malfunction.
