PARKING BRAKE LEVER
Toset the parkingbrake: Fullydepressthebrakepedal. Movethe
parkingbrakeleverintothe parkingbrakeposition.Releasethebrake
pedaltoallowthe parkingbraketo engage.
Torelease the parkingbrake: Depressthe brakepedaland thepark-
ingbrakeleverwillmoveout of the parkingbrakepositionon its own.
Theparkingbrakewillthen bereleased.Releasethebrake pedal.
NOTE=Theparkingbrakemustbe set if the operatorleavestheseat
withthe enginerunningorthe enginewill automaticallyshutoff.
THROTTLE/CHOKE CONTROL LEVER
Thethrottle/chokecontrolleveris
locatedonthe rightsideof thetrac-
tor'sdashpanel.This levercontrols
thespeedof theengineand when
pushedalltheway forward,the
chokecontrolalso.Whenset in
agiven position,thethrottlewill
maintainauniformenginespeed.
IMPORTANT=Whenoperating
thetractorwiththe cuttingdeck
engaged,thethrottle/chokecontrol
levermustalwaysbe inthe FAST
(rabbit)position.
IGNITION SWITCH MODULE
Thekeyswitch moduleisusedto
startand stoptheengine. Itis also
usedtoactivatethe ReverseCaution
Mode(bladesoperatewhileriding
inreverse).Insertkeyinto the key
switchmoduleandturnclockwiseto
theSTARTposition.Releasethekey
intothenormalmowingpositiononce
enginehasstarted.Theheadlights
willbe activatedinthe Normal(and
ReverseCaution)modes.
Tostopthe engine,turntheignitionkey
counterclockwiseto theSTOPposition.

manualfordetailedinstructionsregardingtheIgnitionSwitchModule
andoperatingthetractorin REVERSECAUTIONMODE.
Neverleavearunningmachineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO
(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutralposition,setpark-
ingbrake,stopengineandremovekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
SEAT ADJUSTMENT LEVER
Theseat adjustmentleverislocatedunderthe frontof the seat.Toadjustthe
seat,slidethe seatadjustmentlevertothe left and slidetheseat forwardor
rearward.Makesureseatis lockedintoposition beforeoperatingthetractor.
AUTO-DRIVE PEDAL
Thedrivepedal islocatedonthe rightsideof thetractor,alongthe
runningboard.Depressthedrivepedalforwardandthe tractorwill
moveinthe directionthatthe shift leveris engagedin. Tocausethe
tractortotravelforward,whileat a completestop,movetheshift lever
intotheForwardposition.Graduallystepon thedrivepedaland the
tractorwill beginto moveforward.Tomovein Reverse,followthe same
procedureonlymovetheshiftlever intothe reverseposition.
Thegroundspeedis controlledwiththedrivepedal.The further
forwardthatthe pedalis pivoted,thefaster the tractorwill travel.
Thepedalwill returnto its originalpositionwhenit'snot depressed.
Refertothe Operationsectionofthis manualfor detailedinstructions
regardingthedrivepedal.
IMPORTANT=Alwaysset theparking brakewhenleavingthetractor
unattended.
DECK LIFT LEVER
Foundonyourtractor'srightfender,the deckliftlever isused
tochangethe heightof the cuttingdeck. To use,movethe
levertothe left,thenplacein thenotchbestsuitedfor your
application.
PTO (BLADE ENGAGE) LEVER
Foundonthetractor's rightfender,thePTO (bladeengage)
leverisusedto engagepowertothe cuttingdeckorother
(separatelyavailable)attachments.Tooperate,movethe
leveralltheway forward.Movingthelever allthe way
rearwardintothePTO OFFpositiondisengagespowertothe
cuttingdeck/attachment.
NOTE:The PTO(bladeengage)levermust be inthe
disengaged(PTOOFF)positionwhenstartingtheengine.
CUP HOLDER
Thetractor'scup holderis locatedonthe fenderto theleft of
theseat.
SHIFT LEVER
Theshift leveris locatedon the left
sideofthe fenderand hasthree
positions,FORWARD,NEUTRAL
andREVERSE.Theclutch-brake
pedalmustbedepressedandthe
tractormustnot be inmotionwhen
themovingshift lever.
IMPORTANT=Neverforcethe
shiftlever.Doingso mayresultin
seriousdamagetothetractor's

CLUTCH-BRAKE PEDAL
Theclutch-brakepedalislocatedon the left side of the lawntractor,
alongthe runningboard.Depresstheclutch-brakepedaltoengagethe
discbrakeand bringthe tractortoa completestop.
