Depressthe spindle lockbutton and rotatethe
blade boltuntil the spindle locks.See Figure 12.
Usingthe blade wrench provided, loosen and
removethe blade bolt.
Note: The blade bolthas left hand threads. Turn
bladebolt clOCkwisetoloosen.
Remove outer blade washer. Do not remove
innerblade washer.

Wipe adrop ofoil onto inner blade washer and
outerblade washer where they contact the blade.
,_ WARNING: Ifinner blade washer has been
removed, replace itbefore placing blade on
spindle.Failure to do so could cause an accident
since blade wil_nottightenproperly,
Fit saw blade inside lower blade guardand onto
spindle.The blade teeth point downward at the
front of saw as shown in figure 11.
CAUTION: AlwaysinstaIJ theblade withthe
bladeteeth and the arrowprinted on the side of
the blade pointing down atthe front ofthe saw,
The direction of blade rotation is also stamped
with an arrow on the upper blade guard.
Replace outerblade washer, The double "D"flats
on the blade washers align with the flats on the
spindle.
Depress spindle lock button and replace blade
bolt.
Note: The blade bolt has left hand threads. Turn
blade bolt counterclockwise to tighten.
Tighten bladebolt securely.
Remove the bladewrench and store itin a safe
place for future use.
Replace the lower blade guard and blade bolt
cover.
Retighten phillips screw securing blade bolt cover.
Tighten screw securely.See Figure 11.
_. WARNING: Make surethe spindlelock button is
notengaged before reconnecting sawinto power
source,Never engage spindle lockbutton when
bladeis rotating.
Yourcompound miter saw has been adjusted at the
factory for makingvery accurate cuts. However, some
ofthe components might have been jarredout of
alignment duringshipping.Also, over a periodof time,
readjustmentwillprobably become necessary due to
wear. After unpackingyour saw, check the following
adjustments before you begin using saw. Make any
readjustments that are necessary and periodically
check the parts alignment to make sure that your saw
is cutting accurately.
_. WARNING: Your saw shouldnever be
connectedto powersupply when you are
assemblingparts, making adjustments,installing
orremoving blades, or when not in use.
Disconnectingyoursaw will prevent accidental
starting that could cause serious injury.
