TO REMOVE HOOD AND GRILL AS- SEMBLY
1.Raise hood.
2.Unsnap headlight wire connector.
3.Stand in front of tractor. Grasp hood at
sides, tilt toward engine and lift off of tractor.
4.When replacing hood, be sure to
reconnect the headlight wire connec- tor.

Maintenance, repair, or replacement of the emission control devices and systems, which are being done at the customers expense, may be performed by any
TO ADJUST THROTTLE CONTROL
CABLE
The throttle control has been preset at the factory and adjustment should not be
necessary. Check adjustment as de- scribed below before loosening cable. If
adjustment is necessary, proceed as follows:
1.With engine not running, move throttle control lever to fast position.
2.Check that swivel is against stop. If it is not, loosen cable clamp screw and
pull cable back until swivel is against stop. Tighten cable clamp screw securely.
TO ADJUST CHOKE CONTROL
The choke control has been preset at the factory and adjustment should not be necessary. Check adjustment as de- scribed below before loosening cable. If adjustment is necessary, proceed as follows:
1.With engine not running, move choke control (located on dash panel) to full choke position.
2.Loosen knob and remove cover assembly from air cleaner.
3.Choke should be closed. If it is not, loosen casing clamp screw and move choke cable until choke is completely closed. Tighten casing clamp screw securely.
4.Replace air cleaner cover assembly
and tighten knob.
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
Your carburetor is not adjustable. If your engine does not operate properly due to
suspected carburetor problems, take your tractor to an authorized service center for
repair and/or adjustment.
High speed stop is factory adjusted. Do not adjust - damage may result.
IMPORTANT: Never tamper with the engine governor, which is factory set for proper engine speed. Overspeeding the engine above the factory high speed setting can be dangerous. If you think the
adjusting, contact a Sears or other qualified service center,, which has proper equip- ment and experience to make any necessary adjustments.
