Changing the Engine Oil	,	Removethe airfiltercover.
	2.	To removethe airfilter,liftthe endof thefilter.SeeFigure29.

Ifthe enginehasbeenrecentlyrun,the engine,mufflerandsur-

roundingmetalsurfaceswill be hotandcan causeburnsto the skin. Exercisecautionto avoidburns.

NOTE:The oilfiltershouldbechangedat everyoilchangeinterval.To completeanoil change,proceedas follows:

1.WithengineOFFbutstillwarm,disconnectsparkplugwire and keepit awayfromsparkplug.

2.Removethe oil fill cap/dipstickfromthe oilfill tube.SeeFigure28.

3.Disconnectthe oildrain hosefromthe sideof theengine.

4.Turnand removethe oildraincap. Carefullylowerthe quickoil drainintoanapprovedcontainer.

5.Afterthe oil has drained,installthe oildraincap. Attachtheoil drainhoseto the sideof the engine.

Usedoil is a hazardouswasteproduct.Disposeof usedoil properly. Do notdiscardwithhouseholdwaste.Checkwithyour localauthori- tiesoror contact1-800-4-MY-HOMEfora listof safedisposal/ recyclingfacilities.

3.Removethe pre-cleanerfromthe filter.

4.To loosendebris,gentlytapthe filteron a hardsurface.If thefilter is excessivelydirty,replacewitha newfilter.

5.Washthe pre-cleanerinliquiddetergentandwater.Allowit to thoroughlyair dry. Do not oilthe pre-cleaner.

6.Assemblethe dry pre-cleanerto the filter.

7.Installthe filterintothe enginebaseand pushdown untilthe filter snapsin place.

8.Installthe cover.

Spark Plug

1.Cleanareaaroundthe sparkplugbase. Donot sandblastspark plug. Sparkplugshouldbecleanedby scrapingor wirebrushing andwashingwitha commercialsolvent

Removeandinspectthe sparkplug.Checkgapto makesureit is setat .030".SeeFigure30.

6.Reconnectsparkplugwire.
