by firmly grasping both sides of the unit in the middle. Failure to comply may result
in personal injury and/or damage to the equipment.
WARNING: The CEN-UPS1250 should not be lifted or moved using the two
handles on the front panel. These are intended only for removing the front panel to
access the internal battery, not for lifting or positioning the unit.
Ventilation The CEN-UPS1250 should be used in a well-ventilated area. The venting holes
should not be obstructed under any circumstances.
To prevent overheating, do not operate this product in an area that exceeds the
environmental temperature range listed in the table of specifications. Consider using
forced air ventilation and/or incrementing the spacing between units to reduce
overheating. Consideration must be given if installed in a closed or multi-unit rack
assembly since the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be
greater than the room ambient temperature. Contact with thermal insulating materials
should be avoided on all sides of the unit.
Removing the Battery Pack To remove the battery pack:
1. Remove the battery retaining bar after loosening the thumb screw that holds
it in place. (Refer to illustration on page 15.)
2. Disconnect the battery wire connector.
3. Pull the battery straight back.
4. Press in the retaining tabs to allow the battery to come out completely.
Installing on a Flat Surface Place the unit on a flat, solid surface that is capable of supporting at least 62 pounds
(28.12 kg).
NOTE: Avoid placing other components directly on top of or behind the unit. Leave
at least one inch of space on all sides to allow for proper air ventilation. Do not block
the fan.
Rack Mounting If the CEN-UPS1250 unit is to be rack mounted, please follow these four basic
steps:
WARNING: To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a
rack, take special precautions to ensure that the system remains stable. The following
guidelines are provided to ensure your safety:
When mounting this unit in a partially filled rack, load the rack from the
bottom to the top with the heaviest component at the bottom of the rack.
If the rack is provided with stabilizing devices, install the stabilizers before
mounting or servicing the unit in the rack.
NOTE: The rack mounting hardware that is shipped with the unit is designed for 19
inch wide racks only.
