Computer Name

Before you start installing the SW 6000 software package you must know the name of the computer on which the database is running.

To find the computer name on Windows XP follow these steps

1Open ‘Control Panel’.

2Double click on the ‘System’ icon.

3On the ‘System Properties’ window select the ‘Computer Name’ tab.

4Click on the ‘Change’ button.

5The name of the computer can be found in the textbox labelled ‘Full computer name’. The “Domain” part of the Computer Name shall not be used (in the example ‘.dis.cc” shall not be used)

NB The computer name must not include any spaces, such as ‘MY COMPUTER’
