11.Disconnect the following cables from their corresponding connectors on the system board: power button cable — pull the cable away from the connector

battery indicator cable — pull the cable away from the connector speaker module cable — pull the cable away from the connector touch pad cable — lift the black tab to disconnect the cable

display cable — pull the black pull-tab to disconnect the cable

camera/microphone cable— pull the cable away from the connector

12. Remove the four screws from the top of the palm rest.

CAUTION: Press and eject any installed cards from the ExpressCard slot or the 8-in--1 Media Card Reader before attempting to remove the palm rest.

13.Starting at the back of the palm rest, use your fingers to gently ease the palm rest from the computer base by lifting the inside of the palm rest while pulling on the outside.
