•Tohelp prevent electric shock, plug the AC adapterand peripheral power cables
intoproperly grounded power sources. These cables are equipped with
three-prongplugs to help ensure proper grounding. Do not use adapter plugs or
removethe grounding prong from a cable. If you must use an extension cable,
usea three-wire cable with properly grounded plugs.
•Ify ou use an extension cable with your AC adapter, ensure that the total ampere
ratingof the products plugged into the extension cable does not exceed the
ampere rating of the extension cable.
•Toremove power from the APR, turn off the computer and disconnect the AC
adapterfrom the electrical outlet.
•If your computer includes an integrated or optional (P CCa rd) modem, the cable
usedwith the modem should be manufactured with a minimum wire size of 26
Americanwire gauge (AWG) and an FCC-compliant RJ-11 modular plug.
•Disconnectthe modem cable during an electrical storm to avoid theremote risk
ofelectric shock from lightning via the telephone line.
•Tohelp avoid the potential hazard of electricshock, do not connect or disconnect
anycables or perform maintenance or reconfiguration of this product during an
electricalstorm.
•Whensetting up the APR for work, place it on a level surface.
•Protectyour APR from environmental hazards such as dirt, dust, food, liquids,
temperature extremes, and overexposure t o sunlight.
•Whenyou move your APR between environments with very different
temperature or humidity ranges, condens ation may form on or within the
computer. To avoid damaging the APR, allowsufficient time for the moisture to
evaporatebefore using the computer.
NOTICE: When taking the APR from low-temperature conditions into a
warmer environmentor from high-temperature conditions into a cooler
environment, allow the APR to acclimate to room temperature before
turning on power.
•Whenyou disconnect a cable, pull on its connector or on its strain-relief loop, not
onthe cable itself. As you pull out the connector, keep it evenly aligned to avoid
bendingany connector pins. Also, before you connect a cable make sure both
connectorsare correctly oriented and aligned.
•HandletheAPRwithcare.
•Beforeyou clean your APR, shut down the computer and disconnect it from the
APR.Then unplug the APR from its power source.
•Cleanyour APR with a soft cloth dampened with water rather than with liquidor
aerosol cleaners.
