Replacing the Heat-Sink

Procedure

1Clean the thermal grease from the bottom of the heat-sink and reapply it.

2Align the screw holes on the heat-sink with the screw holes on the system board.

3In sequential order (indicated on the heat-sink), replace the screws that secure the heat-sink to the system board

4Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 29.

5Replace the optical-drive assembly. See "Replacing the Optical-Drive Assembly" on page 21.

6Replace the hard-drive assembly. See "Replacing the Hard-Drive Assembly" on page 25.

7Follow the instructions from step 3 and step 4 in "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 17.

8Replace the battery. See "Replacing the Battery" on page 13.

9Follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 9.
