In selecting a location, the following precautions must be observed:

1.

Do not connect this appliance to a chimney

Mantel Clearances

Woodwork, such as wood trims, mantels and other combustible materials, should not be placed within 7" of the opening of this appliance (see Figure 5). Combustible material above the fireplace project- ing more than 1 1/2" from the appliance’s front face must not be less than 12" from the appliance open- ing (ref. NFPA Standard 211 Sec. 7-3.3.3).
