When you have the display arranged as desired, press
the CLEAR key.
This "locks" the
display. Every
time
you switch to this
display, it will
appear
as you designed it, unless
you preset the unit.
PLOTTER
The
plotter
lets
you see
your
course and direction of travel on the screen.
If you've recalled a waypoint, the plotter shows your starting location,
present position, and destination. However, you do not have to recall a
waypoint to use the plotter.
The
plotter
also can show grid lines on the
display. These
grid lines show
latitude and longitude lines that can help you
visulize
your position or the
location of
other
objects.
The UltraNav II has internal
lights for the display and key-
board. To adjust
the intensity
of the
lighting, press the MENU
key twice, then press the key
adjacenttothe "ADJUST BACK
LIGHT LEVEL" label. The
screen shown below appears.
Now
press
the left arrow
key
to
decrease the light level. Press
ADJUST BACK LIGHT LEVEL

The bar chart also gives a graphical indication of the level. After you've
made the adjustment, press the CLEAR key to erase the menu.
BACK LIGHT ON/OFF
To turn the back lighting on,
press the menu key twice, then
press the key adjacent
to the
"BACK LIGHT" label. This
movesthe black boxfrom "OFF'
to the "ON"
position.
Toturn the
backlights off, repeat
the same
steps.
SPEAKER VOLUME
The speaker
volume has two levels: high or low. When the UltraNav II is
first turned
on,
the
speakervolume is high. To
change it, press
the MENU
keytwice,
then
pressthe key
nexttothe "SPEAKER VOLUME LOW HIGH"
key. This switchesthevolumefrom
highto
low. A
shorttunesounds,
letting
you hear the volume. To switch back to
high, simply press
the
key again.

plotter, simply press
the PLOTTER
key. A
screen similar to the
one at the
top of the next
page appears.
To exit from this menu, press the CLEAR key.
