Select As required, to set up the package data connection when it is nee- ded by a program. It will be disconnected when the program is ended.

Select Always online to set the telephone so that a connection to a pa- ckage data network is automatically established when the phone is turned on.

Modem settings

You can connect the telephone to a compatible PC via infrared or a data cable (DC G01) and use the telephone as a modem to establish a packa- ge data connection to a PC.

To specify the connection settings for the PC, select Menu > Settings > Connections > Package data > Settings for package data > Active access point, activate the desired access point and then select Change active access point. Select a name for the access point and enter a nickname for the currently selected access point. Select Package data access point and enter the name of the access point (APN, Access Point Name), to establish a connection with an EGPRS network.

7.7.7 Making calls

Select Menu > Settings > Calls and one of the following options:

Automat. Volume control, to set the telephone so that the loud speaker volume is automatically adjusted to the background noise.

Call diversion, to redirect incoming calls (network service). If the functions for call blocking are active, you will not be able to redirect calls under some circumstances.

Accept call with any key > On, in order to accept incoming calls by quic- kly pressing any key (excluding the end key or the left and right selection keys).

Automat. Redialing > On, so that after an unsuccessful call attempt, the telephone tries up to ten times to establish a connection to the desired telephone number.

Speed dial > On, to activate the Speed dial. To select, hold down the respective number key.
