(9)Leaving windows or doors slightly open (even a few inches) will significantly reduce the risk of high levels of CO occurring. The high levels of draught-proofing in modern houses reduces ventilation and can allow dangerous gases to build up.

(10)Install CO Alarms in all the areas recommended in this leaflet.

(11)Recognise that CO poisoning may be the cause when family members suffer from “flu-like” symptoms when at home but feel better when they are away for extended periods.

10. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Power

: Three Alkaline AA type batteries (supplied)

CO Sensitivity

: Meets BS EN 50291: 2001.

Unit operates as per Table B (on page 8).

Electromagnetic

: Complies with BS EN 50270

Compatibility

Test/Hush Button

: Checks electronics and horn.

When the unit is alarming, after sensing CO, pressing the test/hush button

will immediately stop the horn (the red light will continue to flash). If CO is

still present the red light and the horn will turn on again after about 4

minutes. The unit can only be silenced once during a CO incident. At 300

ppm CO the unit cannot be silenced. (With interconnected units, the hush

only works on the alarm sensing CO).

Ei Electronics Ei 205CEN, Ei 205ENA, Ei 204EN manual Technical Specification

Ei 204EN, Ei 205EN, Ei 205ENA, Ei 205CEN specifications

Ei Electronics has established a strong reputation in the field of home safety, particularly with its innovative range of smoke alarms and detectors. Among its flagship products are the Ei 205CEN, Ei 205EN, Ei 205ENA, and Ei 204EN models, each featuring advanced technologies designed to provide reliable and effective fire safety solutions.

The Ei 205CEN is a high-performance optical smoke alarm. Its unique design incorporates a state-of-the-art photoelectric sensing technology that enhances its ability to detect slow-burning fires, such as those caused by smoldering materials. This model features a sealed lithium battery that ensures longevity and requires minimal maintenance. Additionally, it is equipped with a test and hush button for user convenience.

The Ei 205EN model takes safety a step further, offering both smoke and carbon monoxide detection capabilities. This dual-functionality makes it an ideal choice for households concerned about the dangers posed by both smoke and toxic gases. The Ei 205EN utilizes the same photoelectric sensing technology as the Ei 205CEN, ensuring rapid response to threats. Moreover, it has an easy-to-read LED indicator that provides visual feedback on the status of the unit, enhancing user awareness.

Building on the features of the Ei 205EN, the Ei 205ENA includes an added benefit of an emergency escape light. This model provides not only smoke and carbon monoxide detection but also illumination during power outages, guiding residents to safety in critical situations. Its intelligent design ensures that the escape light activates automatically when the alarm is triggered, providing peace of mind during emergencies.

Lastly, the Ei 204EN model is designed primarily for smoke detection, utilizing an enhanced photoelectric sensor that minimizes false alarms while maintaining high sensitivity to legitimate threats. This model is particularly suited for areas where unwanted alarms can be disruptive, such as kitchens and living rooms.

Each model in the Ei Electronics lineup is engineered with user-friendly features including clear audio alerts, easy installation, and battery backup options. Collectively, these devices contribute to a comprehensive home safety system that prioritizes user protection and peace of mind. With a commitment to reliability and innovation, Ei Electronics continues to lead the way in smoke and carbon monoxide detection technology.
