III . OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. SOLID TOP

1.1 GENERAL
The solid top optionally has an MS-Supertherm or a coated
MSE-Ecotherm hotplate which is built into a trough-shaped,
jointless and splash-proof chrome nickel steel cover. Each of
the two or four independent heating zones has an output of
4 kW.
The appliance is used for boiling, searing, cooking, keeping
warm and preparation. It is particularly suitable for "A la Carte"
operation.
1.2 OPERATION
The 2 or 4 independent heating zones can be separately
controlled. The green operating lamp (1) lights up when the
corresponding cooking zone is switched on. If the rotary switch
(2) is at 0, the corresponding cooking zone is switched off. The
temperature of the individual heating zones can be steplessly
adjusted and controlled via a thermostatic switch. With a no-
load cooking plate, the different rotary knob (Fig.11) figures
equate approximately to the following temperatures:
The electronic control system ensures the exact maintenance
of the set plate temperature, regardless of whether the plate is
empty or has cooking pots placed on it.
0 = Off
1, ..., 10 = On
1.2.1 STANDBY
The relevant cooking zone is ready for operation when the
rotary switch is set to a power value. At the same time, the
green operation lamp on the control panel lights up. The plate
heats up with full power until the preselected temperature (e.g.
level 7 for 480°F) is reached.
If a cold cooking pot is put on, there is no need to turn to a
higher level for fast heating up, since the built-in electronics
immediately provide full power until the preset plate
temperature is reached again after a short time.
1.2.2 INITIAL OPERATION
Before putting the coated MSE hotplate into operation for the
first time, it must be warmed up for 1 hour by setting all control
knobs to 10.
1.3 CLEANING
Before cleaning, the hotplate must be switched off and have
cooled down.
DClean the cooking surface daily after use.
Note
DThe appliance must not be washed down with a water-jet
or high-pressure cleaner.
DThe floor directly in front of, near and behind the appliance
is usually to be cleaned without the use of a high-pressure
cleaner.
DNever use chloric products (bleaching dye, hydrogen
chloride etc.) for cleaning chrome nickel steel, even if they
are diluted.
DNever use corrosive substances for cleaning the floor
under the appliance (e.g. hydrochloric acid). Clean the
appliance with commercial cleaning agents.
1.3.1 COOKING PLATE MS
DApply a few drops of a suitable commercial cleaner to the
cold cooking surface.
DWipe the plate after each use with a slightly damp cloth.
DClean the cooking plate regularly with an abrasive sponge.
Do not use steel wool!
DAfter cleaning, rub the plate with commercial range plate
grease.
Note
DSo as not to damage the surface, chemically aggressive
cleaning agents (danger of rust) must not be used.
DNo metallic, sharp-edged objects or scratching steel wool
are to be used.
1.3.2 COOKING PLATE MSE
To be able to make full use of the high energy-saving effect of
the special coating, the surface must always be clean.
DRub down the surface with a stainless steel sponge to
which a fat-dissolving agent (Polynox stainless sponge,
Libo-Rein cleaning agent) has been added.
DRemove cleaning residues totally from the cooking surface
and the range cover.
