MAKING A TAPE RECORDING
You can record directly from the Radio or CD player to the cassette recorder.
1.Press the POWER button to switch the system ‘On’. The Power ‘On’ Indicator comes on.
2.Select the source you wish to record, Radio or CD, and follow the instructions for that function.
3.Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette door. Insert a good quality blank cassette into the slots on the door with the exposed tape facing down and the full reel on the left side. Close the cassette door.
4.When you are ready to begin recording, press the RECORD key. The PLAY
key will also engage and recording begins.
•This system features an Automatic Level Control (ALC) recording volume circuit which controls the recording volume to prevent distortion. The main volume control has no effect on the recording. You may raise or lower the VOLUME control during the recording or shut it off completely, if desired.
•You can use the PAUSE key to stop the recording temporarily to avoid recording unwanted material, such as radio commercials.
5.When you are finished recording, press the STOP/EJECT key once to stop the tape and, again, to open the cassette door.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT RECORDING
•Do not force the RECORD button. If it does not engage easily, your cassette may have a missing erase prevention tab.
Refer to the section on “ABOUT CASSETTE TAPES” for more information.
•When you record over previously recorded material, the original material is erased as the new material is recorded.
•Use good quality,
•When recording from AM radio, you may experience an oscillation or ‘Beating’ noise. If this occurs, set the FM MODE/BEAT CUT switch on the back panel to the opposite position.
