1. STOP!Read the safety information above on this label.
2. Turnoff all electrical power to this appliance.
3. Turnoff the gas control knob clockwise tothe off position.
4. Opendoor. Wait fIve (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Close door. If
yousmell gas STOP! Follow “B”in the abovesafety information. If
youdo not smell gas go to the next step.
5. Findpilot-located to the left under the front log. Turn the gas control
knobcounter-clockwise to“PILOT”. Push the gas control in fully
andhold, keep knob depressed for about 30 seconds after
thepilot is lit. Release knob. If pilot goes out, repeat
steps4 through 5.
CAUTION: Hot while operating. Do not touch, severe burns may result. Keep children, clothing,
furniture, gasoline or other flammablevapors away.

A) This appliance is equipped with a pilot, which must be lit by hand by
followingthese instructions exactly.
B) BEFORE LIGHTING smell all around the appliance area for gas and next to
thefloor because some gas is heavier than air and willsettle on the floor.
WHATTO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS:
Donot try to light any appliance. Do not touch any electrical switch: do not
useany phone in your building. Immediately call your gas supplier from a
neighbor'sphone. Follow thegas suppliers instructions. If you cannot reach
yourgas supplier, call the fire department.
C) Useonly your hand to push in or turn the gas control knob;
NEVERuse tools. If the knob will not push in or turn by hand, do
nottry to repair it. Call a qualified service technician. Force or
attemptedrepair may result in a fire or explosion.
D) Donot use this appliance if any part has been under water.
Immediatelycall a qualified service technician to inspect the
applianceand to replace any part of the control system and any
gascontrol which has been under water.
LIGHTINGINSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:this gas valve has a lockout device, which will not allow the
pilotburner to be relit until the thermocouple has cooled. If the knob does
notpop up when released, stop and immediately call your service
technicianor gas supplier.
If the pilot does not stay lit after several tries, turn the gas control knob
to“OFF” and call your service technician or gas supplier.
6. Turnthe gas control knob counter clockwise tothe “ON”
position.Flip the burner switch to “ON” THEN TURN THE “HI/LOW”
knobto the desired setting.
7. Turnon the electrical power to the unit.
TOTURN OFF GASTOAPPLIANCE
1.Flip burner switch to “OFF”
2.Turn the gas control knob clockwise to the “OFF” position.

3.Turn off all electrical power to the appliance if service is to be performed.
CAUTION:Do not operate this fireplace with the glass removed, cracked or broken. Replacement of the panel(s) should be done by a licensed or
qualifiedperson! This appliance needs fresh air for safe operation and must be installed with provisions for combustionand ventilation air. See
installationand operating instructions manual. Keepburner and control compartment clean.
