Selecting your printer in the Chooser

After you have installed the printer driver, you need to open the Chooser to select your printer. This procedure is necessary the first time you use a printer or whenever you want to switch printing to another printer. Your Macintosh will always print using the last printer selected.

1.Select Chooser from the Apple menu. Click your printer’s icon and then click the port to which your printer is connected.

Note:

❏Select AL-C8500 (AT) when connecting via AppleTalk.

❏Select AL-C8500 when connecting via the IEEE 1394 (FireWire) Interface Card.

2.Click the Background Printing radio buttons to turn background printing on or off.

Note:

❏Background printing must be turned on for EPSON Status Monitor 3 to manage print jobs.

❏When background printing is on, you can use your Macintosh while it prepares a document for printing.

3.Close the Chooser.
