Dial by a function key

You can program and activate directory numbers (extensions and Common Speed Dialing numbers) on the programmable keys.

It is possible to store up to 20 numbers (two numbers/key) and the number can consist of maximum 24 digits. See section “Set the number of programmable keys” on page 84.

Lift the handset.

Wait for dial tone.

Press to make a call (preprogrammed).

Note: To dial a number that is stored on the second level, press the preprogrammed key twice.

Make sure that the programming slide switch is set to the “Prog On” position. See section “Enable/Disable function key programming” on page 90.

The Message Waiting key is treated as a normal programmable key.

Program a directory number on the programmable keys:

Press.

The key lamp is flashing during programming.

Press a programmable key.

Note: To store a number on the second level, press the programmable key twice.

If a number is already stored, it is displayed (example):

DIAL-BY-NAME KEY 0-00460812345678

Dial the number.

You can use any directory number, e.g. a Common Abbreviated Number or a colleague’s extension number. You can also store a pause (multiple pauses possible),* # the R-key feature or any procedure that contains or .
