Repeat again moving the right lever in, then moving both levers in - engine must initiate shutdown whether operator is on seat or not.

c)Check the PTO circuit:

See the FR524 and FR604 Operator’s manual to become familiar with the deck operation. Open the folding deck latches, disengage the park brake, move the motion control levers in to neutral, and disengage the PTO.

Lower the deck until the PTO switch arm is no longer depressing the PTO “kill” switch. See Figure 3.

Run the engine at half throttle and pull up on the PTO engagement switch.

The PTO must not engage.

NOTE: If machine does not pass any of these tests, do not operate. Contact your authorized EXMARK SERVICE DEALER.

IMPORTANT: It is essential that operator safety mechanisms be connected and in proper operating condition prior to use for mowing.

4.1.6Check for loose hardware:

Service Interval: Daily

a)Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and remove key. Engage parking brake.

b)Visually inspect machine for any loose hardware or any other possible problem. Tighten hardware or correct the problem before operating.

4.1.7Check rollover protections system (roll bar) pins:

Service Interval: Daily

c)Make sure latch pin and hair pin are fully installed and lanyard is in good condition.

4.1.8Check seat belt:

Service Interval: Daily

a)Visually inspect seat for wear, cuts, and proper operation of retractor and buckle. Replace before operating if damaged.
